Illustration – Toop Studio

Illustration has become integral to the kind of design work Toop Studio produces. It is often part of a larger design, branding, packaging, publishing or advertising brief, but we also take on pure illustration commissions.

While our studio doesn’t have a single in-house illustration style, Shadric Toop tends to veer towards hand-made work over purely digital work. This encompasses drawing, painting, collage, manipulated photography and artwork that combines hand-made and digital processes.

We have produced a large body of illustration work for Glyndebourne Opera House between 2017 and 2020 using a process of painted collage, which was influenced by David Hockney, Peter Blake and Dexter Dalwood. You can see some of this work here and here.

More recently, Shadric has been working on drawing-based illustrations for Grange Park Opera.

Shadric has a dedicated illustration website at shadrictoop.com.
